This saddle was developed by Mike Yancey who has done extensive research. The saddle is made for Paso Finos and Peruvian Pasos, it is not made for Walking Horses, or any other gaited or non gaited horses.
My saddle trees are made in Tennessee and the leather used is from Wickett and Craig. I make my stirrup leathers out of harness leather, which is impervious to sweat and rain. When twisted, the stirrup leathers will hold their shape, thus taking pressure off the rider's knees, and making it easy to find your stirrups when you mount.
The seat in my saddle is a "center seat" position, which most riders find comfortable and balanced. The seat padding is closed cell neoprene foam, which will not absorb water when caught in the rain, and is covered in black "motorcycle Jacket" leather.
